Colour registration and fine text

The short answerKeep small text and fine lines in 1 colour (2 at most). Asking four plates to line up on a tiny element causes fuzzy edges and coloured halos.

The details

Best: 100% black. Harder: C100 M100 Y100 K100, which needs four plates to line up perfectly on one small element. Two colours is still manageable, but the finer the element, the more registration matters.
