Why we ask for Pantone references
The details
Providing Pantone references helps us select the right materials and printing specifications to get the closest possible match.
A Pantone book and MCRL's swatch book are different things. The Pantone (PMS) book is an industry-wide reference with thousands of colours, for when an exact brand-colour match matters. MCRL's swatch book, included in the sampler kit, shows only the common cover colours we print in-house. Use the Pantone book to specify an exact match; use our swatch book to see our standard options.
Common questions
Can offset printing match my brand colour?
Yes. Offset printing reproduces Pantone brand colours accurately and consistently across the full print run. A Pantone number gives us a precise target, though paper and process still affect the final result.
Is offset better than digital printing for matching Pantone colours?
Offset matches closest to the Pantone Matching System because offset printers can mix custom colour inks. Digital printing gives an approximation, so if you need exact matching, offset is better.
